Meet the 6 Winners of the SXSW Accelerator 2011

During SXSW, we hosted 30 of the SXSW Accelerator finalists at our SXSW Tech Cocktail event.  The 32 finalists were whittled down to 12 for the launchpad competition.  They included news-related, social media, social networking, entertainment, music, and web technology startups. We also would like to point out that 5 of the 6 startups that were selected as winners of the SXSW Accelerator participated in our Tech Cocktail event at SXSW.

It was an amazing group of creative and innovative companies, and we are excited to share with you the winners:

News Related Tech

Storify – Mix together Tweets, photos and videos to create dynamic stories that can be embedded anywhere.

Social Media & Social Networking

POPVOX – Their web-based tool offers a free, non-partisan message delivery system for individuals, advocacy organizations, and Congress.

Innovative Web Technology

Hipmunk – They take the pain out of searching, browsing, and filtering flight search results. 

Entertainment Technology

Tango – Use Tango to make mobile free video calls to your family and friends wherever you are.

Music

Roqbot – A social jukebox for your favorite bar or restaurant.

And the winner for Best Bootstrap

NeighborGoods – Save money, live more sustainably and strengthen your local community by sharing goods and skills with your neighbors.
