The App Strategy Workshops are part of a 15-event series hosted by the Application Developers Alliance, a Washington D.C. based industry association dedicated to meeting the unique needs of app developers as creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The workshops convene industry leaders, app strategy experts, and startups to discuss tools and strategies to build a successful app business. Speakers include Intel, CNN, Amazon, The Weather Channel, Flurry, AT&T, New Relic, Big Fish Games, and more. “We know that building a great app is difficult and that turning it into a successful business can be even more of a challenge,” says Jake Ward, Executive Director of the Application Developers Alliance. “The App Strategy Workshops provide an opportunity for developers to hear critical insights on building an app business and connect with people at all levels of the development cycle.”
Speakers take a deep-dive into content covering the entire app life cycle and offer tips and best practices for testing through launch, with a focus on gaining and engaging users and generating revenue. Each workshop features panel discussions and a keynote, and concludes with a networking reception.
“At the App Strategy Workshops you get to learn from your peers. You get to learn from the people that have done it before you, or may be slightly ahead of you, and not make the same mistakes,” says Dennis Luo, Senior Group Manager at Intel. “This is really the ground zero for figuring out how to make everything work.”
The series kicked off in Seattle followed by Atlanta, with 13 additional workshops on deck, including San Francisco on April 25 and New York on May 2. The discussions are recorded and a short Lessons Learned highlight video is produced for each event: Seattle and Atlanta are already up.
“These events are a rarity in our industry; real, engaging, and valuable for speakers and attendees,” says Geoff Hollingworth of Ericsson.
