It was recently reported by PSFK that Zappos has rolled out a new service called Ask Zappos. The whole point of the new service is to help shoppers find those products their hearts desire by taking item requests in the form of images.
As the article reads: “Ask Zappos is like a digital, personal assistant who will help customers track down specific items even if the retailer doesn’t have the items in their online store”.
Users can text photos, email images to email@example.com, post to Instagram to the hashtag #AskZappos, or upload the photo to the Ask Zappos web page. Zappos has also made it easy for users to input their own descriptions of what they’re looking for.
The free service marks Zappos Labs most recent project and comes out of San Francisco. However, if Zappos Ask ends up being successful it will be handed off to the team at Zappos Las Vegas HQ in Downtown Vegas.
