Atari US Files For Bankruptcy

Jan 21, 2013

Tech News

Atari US has filed for bankruptcy and will look to sell all its assets in the next four months in an effort to disconnect itself from its parent company, the France-based Atari SA. Atari was founded in 1972 and blazed a trail in arcade and video games. The assets they are looking to sell are classic franchises like Pong, Centipede, Missile Command and Asteroids. The Atari logo of the company itself is also said to be for sale. So that makes one wonder what will be left after such a fire sale. One thing that will never be lost is the countless memories by many that were entertained by the Atari console from the mid-1970s through the 1980s as it brought arcade games into the home. I know, I was one of the many entertained by Atari as a youngster and I thank Atari for the memories. Source: Bloomberg.

Great blog! Sorry to get off subject, but since Nashville is a big up and coming city, I’m looking for a great Nashville sushi restaurant or Japanese restaurant. Have you heard of any good ones? There’s a new one called Nomzilla Sushi Et Cetera, but I’ve only seen a few reviews. Here’s the address of this new Nashville Japanese Restaurant, 1201 Villa Place, Suite 101 Nashville, TN 37212 – (615) 268-1424. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
