Always Make Time for Content Creation

Content marketing is bigger than you think. I constantly argue with my clients that say, “we don’t need a blog.” We all do. I own a company, and I don’t spend nearly enough time writing. As I was racking my brain for my next blog topic for Tech Cocktail, I realized that I’m not writing enough content. Just like that, this idea for this article was born.

In most cases, I write content on the Greenbaum Digital blog, publish posts on LinkedIn, and here on Tech Cocktail. I do this because I want to be viewed as a thought leader in my industry, I want to share knowledge and tips with fellow marketers, and I want to be able to showcase my company and myself. It works. I recently published an article on our company website on growth hacking Twitter to gain thousands of engaged followers. It drove 2,000+ visits to my company website in a week and we received three calls for our services. That, my friends, is content marketing.

Own a company? Start a blog. Publish content. It doesn’t matter what you do or offer, people search for anything and everything millions of times a day. For me, driving people to our company blog allows me to: a) showcase our work b) offer insight and tips to showcase our marketing knowledge c) retarget the visitors to our site with advertising selling our services. Our blog posts are filled with CTAs that keep our visitors engaged with the brand. It’s a strong selling tool, and it works.

Publishing on LinkedIn is so valuable, especially if you have a large connection list. Did you know that every time to you publish a post on LinkedIn, every single one of your connections is notified? Think about that, you basically have a built-in subscription list for all of your posts? Big company news? A new product? Need something? You potentially have thousands of people that are directly notified that you published an article. With that being said, be sure to have a strong headline and high quality (shareable) content.

Writing for Tech Cocktail is an honor for any business owner or thought leader. I’m proud to have my writing published here and read almost every article posted, as it comes from strong sources. Our involvement with this site puts us in rare company, establishes us as thought leaders, and allows for our words to be shared across the Internet, thanks to Tech Cocktail’s huge reach. If you’re reading this post and have quality content to share, get involved with this awesome site.

Content helps SEO scores, drives traffic, and positions you as a thought leader in your industry. You know what’s great about being a thought leader? Everyone wants to work with the thought leaders in their industry because they know what they’re doing. Write more and share your knowledge, please!
