Couple Street: A Social Network for Two

Last week at the Launch Festival, NYC-based Couple Street (Couple St.) unveiled the first social network for only two people. Couple Street allows couples to stay connected, organize their common life, and enjoy private and intimate communication.

“Facebook is for friends, LinkedIn for business relationships, and Couple St. supports the most important relationship of your life,” said CEO Kamel Zeroual in a news release. “Couple St. is about sharing with your partner. Your couple is not like any other relationship, and as such it deserves a special means of communication.”

Couple St.’s private space allows couples to let loose and share anything they want with their partner in a secure way. The site can also help busy couples plan their lives together with features like a collaborative calendar, to-do list, wish list and reminders, all of which are completely free.

If your life is tied to another person, then you know almost every decision requires some sort of communication between the two of you. My husband and I could definitely use a sort of “home page” for all of our plans and couple-related ideas. Planning trips when work isn’t too busy, getting ideas for upcoming birthday gifts and making sure neither of us forgets an upcoming joint commitment are all useful applications for Couple St.

In our three years of marriage, we haven’t forgotten an anniversary yet, but I hear it happens when you get a few more years in – so Couple St. could prevent a lot of fights, too. And, let’s face it wives – Couple St.’s to-do list feature is just asking to be renamed the Honey-Do List, right?

Even though they just launched, the Couple St. team already has its sights set on the next goal.

“We believe that our solution will uniquely meet the needs of millions of couples,” said co-founder Gael Delalleau. “Now we will need to iterate quickly on user feedback and get ready for our next big milestone: the launch of the Couple St. mobile application.”
