Dinner Lab got their initial start down south in New Orleans, but they soon expanded into new markets like Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco, Nashville, New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, and Washington D.C.
While Dinner Lab was previously bootstrapped, today they announced that they have officially closed a seed funding round at $2.1 million. The funds came primarily from Dr. John B. Elstrott, Chairman of the Board at Whole Foods, with additional input from outside angel investors.
Early reports indicate that the funding will go primarily towards growing their data team as well as scaling the business in general. Dinner Lab was able to successfully enter and sustain 10 different markets while bootstrapped, so it’ll definitely be exciting to see how they do with a fresh $2.1 million under their belt.
