Global Entrepreneurship Week kicks off today and runs until November 18, with over 35,000 events planned in 131 countries, from the United States to Lebanon to Kenya.

Now in its fifth year, the worldwide celebration organized by the Kauffman Foundation includes events like Startup Weekends, networking meetups, demos, and competitions. Startup Weekend estimates that over 1,000 startups will be created at their events, taking place last weekend and this weekend. Here’s a sampling of the other events:

Global Entrepreneurship Week was highlighted by President Obama when he proclaimed November to be National Entrepreneurship Month, and November 16 to be National Entrepreneurs’ Day.

“Ours is a Nation where men and women can take a chance on a dream — where they can take an idea that starts around a kitchen table or in a garage and turn it into a new business or a new industry,” he wrote.
