Google Acquires KikScore’s Confidence Badge and Online Trust Score Platform

Jun 1, 2012

Kikscore

DC-based startup KikScore announced today on their blog that the “KikScore service, platform, technology and certain assets have been acquired by Google.” KikScore created a patent-pending Confidence Badge and online trust score platform that enables small online businesses and non-profits to demonstrate trustworthiness through data and information. As part of the acquisition, KikScore will no longer be available to the 1700+ Kikscore customers from June 28th onwards.

Online trust is a very hot topic, and Google late last year launched their Google Trusted Store product. Very interesting that Google is building up on this technology through acquisitions like KikScore. Good news also for the DC tech community that startup innovation is doing well in the Washington, DC Metro area and has the attention of major Internet companies.
