If You Hate Moving, MoveHero Can Save The Day

Feb 20, 2013

MoveHero

As someone who has moved four times in the last six years, I am well acquainted with the cost of moving. I’m also very aware of how difficult it can be to find the best value. MoveHero aims to ease the stress of moving by creating a product that compares the prices of moving companies, and offers reviews and other useful information.

MoveHero is a Los Angeles-based startup that was founded in August, 2012 by Ryan Carrigan, Daniel Greenfield, and Mak Kemenosh. As veterans of the moving industry, they consider MoveHero to be their way of reversing their bad karma.

“We were working sales in the moving industry. Everyday we would sit there and listen to customers complain about how difficult it was to find pricing and information related to moving online. Those conversations, coupled with the ridiculous number of moving scams and misleading information across the Internet, indicated a huge disconnect. It compelled us to create a customer-focused, useful alternative.”

They decided to use their industry knowledge to help others with the painstaking task of moving. Whether you’re packing up a studio apartment or a six bedroom house, you can find a complete breakdown of pricing across multiple companies, and recommendations on how to move smartly and efficiently.

MoveHero differentiates itself from its competitors by having real moving industry experience behind it. The founders claim that most of the other moving information sites out there are run by Internet marketing firms with little industry knowledge. Also, their website is super simple to navigate. In order to obtain estimates for multiple types of moving services, you only need to enter your approximate moving date, moving zipcodes (to and from), and the approximate size of your current residence.

I really wish this service had been around the last time I moved. It’s a fantastic tool for people who are looking to find trustworthy, reliable moving services for the best deal. It will be exciting to see what new features MoveHero comes out with in the future.
