Jean Case co-created the Case Foundation, where she currently sits as CEO, in 1997 with the desire to make the biggest impact on entrepreneurs that she could. To do so, she centered the driving philosophies of the Case Foundation on the same entrepreneurial approaches she cultivated throughout her own career.
To that end, the Case Foundation has developed their Be Fearless campaign to help entrepreneurs understand what it really takes to affect fearless social change. It’s all based on principles she’s noticed in breakthrough formative changes: make big bets, make history, have really big ideas, experiment early and often, and never be afraid to go first.
However, Case offers some words of wisdom for those brave enough for the path. If you’re going to experiment, try new things, and take risks you have to accept that failure is an option. The key, as she says, is that you have to make failure matter: fail fast, fail forward, and let others learn about your failure.
