Kickstarter Announces 2012 Statistics; 3 Times More Pledged Than 2011

Over 2.2 million Kickstarter backers pledged almost $320 million in 2012, up 221 percent from 2011. That’s $606.76 crowdfunded per minute. Over 18,000 projects were successfully funded, with about 57 percent of projects failing to meet their funding goals. The most funded category was games.
