SXSW Conference Expands to Las Vegas with SXSW V2V

SXSW, the massive conference for innovators in the arts and technology, is headed to Vegas on August 11-14 for SXSW V2V.

SXSW V2V is targeted at entrepreneurs and creative professionals. V2V means a variety of things, including Version 2 Vegas. “Visionaries to Vegas, Vision to Venture, Voice to Voice, Venture to Vegas – all the variations of the V2V moniker carry the same theme, the movement from idea to reality,” the website explains.

“All the startup-related activity that is now happening in Las Vegas (Tech Cocktail included) has certainly caught our eye,” says SXSW Interactive director Hugh Forrest. “So, this seems like a great opportunity for a new event to align with an emerging community.”

Forrest says that SXSW has been interested in expanding for a while, and their record 2012 event – almost 25,000 attendees – showed that there was demand for it.

SXSW V2V will focus on creativity and its impact on innovation. The format, like the original SXSW, includes speakers, panels and workshops, coaching sessions, networking events, pitch competitions, and startup showcases. Topics will range from tech and the arts, to education and the environment.

This event joins the family of SXSW events, which includes SXSW Music, Film, and Interactive (March 8-17), SXSWedu (March 4-7), and SXSW Eco (October 3-5).
