Nick Moran is the cofounder and managing director of New Stack Ventures and Moran Capital Partners. He also started the very popular The Full Ratchet podcast, where he interviews venture capital and angel investing experts on successful startup fundraising and investing strategy. Nick asked me to interview him for his 100th episode and I thought the content was so good that I decided to repost it here.
In this episode, we had the pleasure of talking about a wide range of subjects, including how Nick got into venture capital, why he started The Full Ratchet, what his key takeaways are after 100 episodes, where he finds his deals, and of course, what an ideal startup looks like to him. In addition, the discussed what resources he recommends to investors and entrepreneurs, what Nick’s investment thesis is and how he evaluates startups for investment, and what the best and worst things are about the startup ecosystem in Chicago.
If you’re interested in what an ideal startup looks like, take a listen to the interview below and make sure your company lines up with what he says.
