Tech Cocktail: What was the inspiration behind your startup?

oneLIVE: My inspiration came from helping traditional casinos connect to the mobile generation.

Tech Cocktail: What do you enjoy most about working on oneLIVE?

oneLIVE: I mostly enjoy working with the great group of people that we’ve assembled to make our vision a reality.

Tech Cocktail: Who is oneLIVE’s greatest competitor, and how do you differentiate yourself?

oneLIVE: Our greatest competitors are the traditional casino gaming manufacturers, who are stuck in the 20th century. oneLIVE revolutionizes table economics. One player, a hundred players, or a thousand players can all play with the same dealer. Table play around the world has been in decline and has dropped by 6% in Nevada since 2008. Table margins can be improved by extending the game floor and reaching more players with live streaming video and mobile player apps. Powered by oneLIVE, game play occurs on demand, whenever the players like, and table returns increase dramatically. Players (and casinos) aren’t limited by a single table location – oneLIVE lets them play by the pool, in-room, or anywhere on the casino property.

Tech Cocktail: What is the biggest advantage and disadvantage of starting up in your city?

oneLIVE: As a tech pioneer who started in Silicon Valley in the 70’s, Las Vegas is the last of the Wild Wild West, and what’s happening now in this city’s tech scene reminds me of those exciting days.

Tech Cocktail: Describe a challenging moment you had or a crucial decision you had to make in your startup. How did you deal with it, and what did you learn from it?

oneLIVE: Making the decision to focus exclusively on mobile devices and foregoing the traditional gaming floor cabinets proved to be exactly the right decision as we avoided competing with existing manufacturers in those areas.

Tech Cocktail: What’s one quirky fact about you, your team, or your office culture?

oneLIVE: Our development team gets little or no sleep because we’re working with talented developers in China, England, Brazil, Las Vegas, and India; not all of whom speak English. In addition, one of the developer’s name is Hack and another one is Viral.
