Take a Tour of San Francisco Coworking Space pariSoma [Video]

With 3/4ths of its population working for a startup (source: Zach’s non-empirical observation), San Francisco obviously has a substantial demand for communal office space. And as a result, a host of coworking venues have emerged throughout this seven-by-seven-mile city, with a wide range in size, specialization, and amenities. There is almost certainly a space to fit your startup’s needs.
Today we take a tour of pariSoma, the “innovation loft” to coworking, classes, and events nestled in San Francisco’s South of Market district.
Since becoming a member of pariSoma, I’ve been most impressed with the community’s level of camaraderie. Every Tuesday, Jason Wohlstadter, radio and label director at Proton Radio, organizes a coworkers’ happy hour. Last week, pariSoma’ers pitched in to capitalize on Uber’s amazing ice cream promo. Earlier this week, there was an organized Dark Knight Rises viewing.

The venue also hosts a variety of networking events, classes, and speaking sessions. Without checking the speaker schedule, I unexpectedly wandered into the office on a day where the founder of Second Life, Philip Rosedale, was giving a presentation. Not a perk offered at the local coffee shop.
Many notable startups and larger companies work (or have worked) from pariSoma incluing: AwayFind, Brightcove, Major League Soccer, OkCupid Labs, Scoop.it, vchatter, VidCaster, pariSoma’s parent company faberNovel, and Tech Cocktail (no link necessary). The space also plays home to a non-profit, PR firm, and a variety of freelancers.
To get a better feel for the innovation loft, I asked pariSoma’s general manager, Amber Wolf, to give us a walk-through of the recently renovated venue. Enjoy.
