Phone2Action, a digital advocacy and mobilization platform for nonprofits and companies, announced the completion of a successful seed funding round. They were able to bring in $600,000 in a round led by Dundee Venture Capital with Think Big Partners participating.
The funding will be directly applied to scaling up Phone2Action’s development and customer success teams and helping build the second generation of its engagement platform to be released in December. The company is also expanding its integration with a number of other platform partners while simultaneously adding additional programming capacity.
“We had a head-start because I was coming from the advocacy arena and I had experienced some of the challenges on communicating with elected officials first-hand. However, since we launched the platform, our clients have been the driving force behind our innovation- they inspire us every day to build tools that connect decision makers with real people,” says Ximena Hartsock, Phone2Action president.
Phone2Action’s platform is defined by its ease of use. By dramatically reducing the friction in grassroots communications to elected officials and others, the platform makes it possible for many more Americans to engage meaningfully on civic matters.
“During the past few years, the way people interact has changed dramatically and there is no ‘one size fits all’ way of communication between people. Thus, we have developed a platform with tools that meet people where they are, whether it’s on email, text, phone or social media. This job is incredibly rewarding because our technology translates into advancing critical causes such as patent litigation reform, education or immigration. As a tech startup co-founder and immigrant, I can’t think of a better job to have [than] building tools that drive real change on causes we deeply care about,” says Hatsock.
