Times are a changing in Colorado. On January 1, 2014 the state of Colorado will legalize marijuana for recreational sales. With this change, the Denver Post wasted no time by launching a new digital brand and website called The Cannabist to cover the Colorado marijuana culture.
The Cannabist will cover pot culture, offer marijuana reviews and Mary Jane related entertainment and food content. For the reviews, they have even hired a marijuana editor. The site also offers a link for sellers to post where they are selling pot. Yes, the site is helping sellers through classified advertising online too.
Here are a few headlines you’ll find on the new site, which illustrate how serious they are about their mission, but playful they are in their approach:
- Marijuana review: Grandaddy Purple (Strain Theory)
- Kitchen Kush: Gluten-free zucchini bread (marijuana-enhanced recipe)
- High Scores: Video games and weed. An inside look at this match made in heaven
- Pot on film: “Newlyweeds” isn’t “Reefer Madness,” but it’s also no stoner comedy
