Who are the Challenge Cup São Paulo’s Hottest Showcasing Startups? [POLL]

In case you missed it, Tech Cocktail has proudly partnered with 1776, the Washington, DC-based startup incubator, to bring you the Challenge Cup – a global competition to identify the hottest startups in education, energy, health, and smart cities.

On January 28th, Challenge Cup will bring the excitement to São Paulo, where dozens of startups will battle for the four regional winners’ spots within their respective category.

The winners from each of the 16 events (8 international, 8 within the US) will move onto the final round and with it, the chance to win the $150,00 grand prize.

But we want to know what YOU think!  Weigh in and let us know which of these startups from the event is the hottest by voting in the poll at the bottom of this post!  The winner of the Reader’s Choice Polls from each group will be announced on tech.co on Monday, February 3rd.

StudentBackr — Creates an alternative to traditional bank loans for students.

theSedge.org — Platform that brings together the global community of changemakers, who are using social enterprise to advance their social missions.

Timokids — An app with 3-D stories for children of many themes and situations that reflect the day-by-day of the kids, with the objective to educate, entertain and pass positive messages. The stories are found in different languages and can be authored by third-party writers.

Veduca — Democratize top quality education in Brazil and Low Income Markets, via video-lectures from world-class universities: free, in native language, contextualized.

Health

Doctor Fun

iClinic — A new generation of medical programs for online clinics and management, helping many health professionals increase their productivity.

Medicinia – An alternative healthcare delivery model, based on online, high-frequency interactions to complement the traditional office-based, low-frequency model, increasing doctor productivity and patient satisfaction. It does so through a questions and answers platform to connect patients with doctors and general practioners with specialists.

Energy

BePots –  Creating online information bridges between producers, institutions and consumers about the product’s post-consumption environmental impact so as to show the consumers which products can or cannot be recycled. This leads them to incorporate this information as a variable at purchase, thereby inducing companies to review the materials they use.

Let’s Park — A mobile application to find cheap parking near you. Our app is crowdsourced, thus the driver’s community adds car parks and suggests updates.

Mandae – A platform that simplifies the process of shipping and does it all for you. Just snap a photo, and our driver shows up at your location and picks everything up to be packed in our office and shipped off via the appropriate carrier.
