Small business owners and personal contractors must juggle many responsibilities to keep their business thriving. Jahn Dohse, sole proprietor of Brezilhou LLC, created Pencil Me Down to help small business owners and contractors schedule appointments and meetings online.
Pencil Me Down lets the customers schedule appointments online, eliminating time-consuming phone tag. Email and text notifications can be set up to automatically remind customers and employees of scheduled appointments and meetings, or to alert them of cancellations.
Dohse believes that online scheduling services should be as accessible and easy for the business owner as they are for the customer. Pencil Me Down stores all information through their system, meaning business owners do not have to download any software. Businesses can use their logos and company colors. The scheduling interface can be hosted through unique business URLs through Pencil Me Down, or incorporated into the businesses’ own website.
Pencil Me Down was created by Dohse exclusively for small businesses. “Throughout development we have reached out to our target audience,” says Doshe, “to understand their frustrations and needs.” For example, instead of charging per appointment, Pencil Me Down charges one fee per month by number of schedules for each business. This gives businesses a consistent fee, one less variable for them to worry about.
Pencil Me Down strives to be the invisible secretary for small businesses. With all the responsibilities and restraints on small companies, it’s an efficient answer to scheduling problems.
Pencil Me Down was a showcased startup at our Tech Cocktail Boise mixer.
