SoundBetter Wins Double Awards at Tech Cocktail’s San Francisco Mixer & Startup Showcase

For San Francisco-based SoundBetter, last night wasn’t too shabby. The music industry startup snagged both the Best Pitch and Reader’s Choice category awards at our San Francisco Mixer & Startup Showcase, making it the definitive Hottest Showcasing Startup.

Twelve Bay Area startups attended the event, which was held at Mighty, to network with other entrepreneurs and show off their innovations, but only one would win Best Pitch (as determined by our live SMS poll). Not only did SoundBetter take this prize, but the startup also felt lots of love from you, dear readers, when you voted it as your favorite in our pre-event Reader’s Choice poll.

San Francisco’s Hottest Showcasing Startup — Best Pitch and Reader’s Choice

SoundBetter is a marketplace that helps 3M recording musicians worldwide find and hire post-production professionals. Although home recording is exploding due to the drop in the cost of equipment, recording is only the first step of the process. Every song that gets recorded needs to be mixed and mastered by skilled professionals. SoundBetter centralizes the huge and previously fragmented music-production services industry.

Congrats to SoundBetter for its double win, and thank you to all who attended and showcased, as well as to Mighty for hosting the event!
