Startup Update: Drippler and Echoer Apps Take Off, GrubHub Releases New Mobile Technology

If you’re an app developer, what’s more exciting than rave reviews and happy users?  How about 1 million downloads, which Drippler is just about to reach?  The app, which delivers personalized news to you about the devices you own, also just launched a new Android app that features a brand new design and automatic device detection, which means the app automatically detects the Android smartphone or tablet you’re using and provides custom content accordingly.  You can download the new app here.

Another app that is showing remarkably well is Echoer, which was one of our showcased startups at our #StartupLife Celebration at SXSW 2 months ago. This location-based app lets you shape and explore ideas, discoveries and events as they are happening around you – and they clocked over 16,000 downloads in their first weekend after launch. One funny echo that was shared that weekend: Austin Starbucks goers describing coffee as “God’s way of apologizing for early mornings.”

Switching over to the web, GrubHub, online and mobile food ordering service, released OrderHub technology, an in-restaurant tablet that helps restaurants better manage the online orders they get through GrubHub.  It streamlines the ordering
process, making the confirmation process 80% faster, and
provides diners with more accurate delivery estimates.
