Chicago has been hailed as the comedy capital of the world on more than one occasion. Whether it be Bill Murray lighting up the silver screen or Tina Fey cracking jokes at Second City, there is no shortage of talent when it comes to comedy in the Windy City. Chicago is, in fact, no stranger to talent in the startup world as well, which is why Tech.Co is planning to head east to host a Startup Showcase in Chicago on July 27th! A number of budding startups will demo their products while founders, employees, and attendees alike will enjoy drinks and networking until the sun comes up.
Don’t think of this as a simple competition. This is a chance for Chicago startups to show their work on a grander scale. Our sponsor Microsoft Accelerator will have team members on-site to evaluate and report back on some of the ideas and products that stick out. You’ll also have a chance to learn about their program, which has churned out the likes of Beagle and Affinio.
The startups in the showcase will, however, be considered for the Tech.Co Startup of the Year competition, which will be held in San Jose, CA during the Innovate! and Celebrate conference. This year, we’ve partnered with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) – which produces the CES – for the global conference that will bring together tech leaders, influencers, investors, and of course, early-stage startup companies.
