Last month, we first reported on Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest Road Trip, a tour through four under-recognized startup ecosystems, including Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Nashville. At each stop of the tour, Case will meet with entrepreneurs and innovators that are contributing to the growth of their local startup communities; since moving its main operations to Detroit in 2010, Quicken Loans has enabled the growth of thousands of new jobs in the area. In addition, Case will take part in a startup pitch competition later today and invest $100,000 in one Detroit startup.
