Stitch Labs, FitOrbit, SpotFlux, Homesnap and Peekseed Awarded At SXSW

Mar 14, 2012

Tech Cocktail SXSW 2012 Awards

With the buzz of SXSW in full effect this past Saturday at Tech Cocktail’s #Startuplife Celebration presented by .CO we showcased 33 startups from across the country, with 13 states and 5 countries represented. We had a solid set of judges come through and select their favorites, and then we awarded six prizes. The following companies came out on top:

Best In Show (Early Stage) – Stitch Labs
Best In Show (1st Runner Up – Early Stage) – Spotflux
Best In Show (Later Stage) – FitOrbit
Best Design – Peekseed
Most Innovative – Homesnap by Sawbuck
People’s Choice – Spotflux

Prizes were provided by Betamore, Rackspace, Constant Contact, Delivering Happiness, Idea Couture, Lippe Taylor, BugHerd, CoTweet (ExactTarget) and BlameStella. Each winning team will also receive a custom engraved Tech Cocktail Trophy – martini glass shaped of course, sans olive.

When the judging was done, thousands of people flowed through Saturday night’s event checking out the startups, getting pictures taken in the .CO photo booth, enjoying cocktails and the #StartupLife at SXSW. Special thanks to all of our mixer sponsors: .COVitrueRazooMapQuestConstant Contact and New Atlantic Ventures (NAV).

During the day we had a few dozen startup founders, tech influencers and other luminaries join us for our Tech Cocktail’s SXSW Interview Series presented by Vitrue, which you can view here on Tech Cocktail and some on USA Today.

We also hosted a special #StartupLife lunch presented by .CO and supported by DC-area law firm Gray | Squire. In a town where BBQ rules, our #StartupLife Ramen Noodle lunch warmed up a cold, rainy Austin day. The corn-hole games and chalk artist made for fun too.

SXSW is truly one of our favorite events of the year – thank you to every guest, startup, sponsor, volunteer, The Stage on Sixth staff, the entire Tech Cocktail team and support staff, SXSW and of course, you our readers who voted in the People’s Choice awards and support Tech Cocktail each day.
