You have created a great app. Maybe it’s a game, maybe it’s an educational tool, or maybe it is a productivity app. Whatever it is, you’ve worked hard on your creation, and you want the general public to love it just as much as you do. Of course, in the app world, showing love can be translated in downloads. This leads to the next step. How do you get people to download your app, or more specifically, how do you earn more than 1,000 downloads as quickly as possible. You can start out by applying these 5 strategies.

Send Requests for Reviews to Major App Review Sites

If your app has been reviewed on popular app review websites such as pocket gamer, you can significantly increase the likelihood of your app being downloaded by interested users. Simply send a request to have your app reviewed, along with some compelling information about yourself and what drove you to create your product.

Start with a Free Product

Many new app developers blanch at the idea of providing a free product, but the truth is this is a great way to get people to download your app. Don’t worry. Launching as a free app doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to monetize in the near future. You can always launch professional or premium versions later on that have additional features or levels.

Develop a Fanbase Before Launching

Generate your own buzz about your app before you launch it. Create a social media presence. Share sneak previews. Invite close and personal followers to download a premier copy. Blog about  your progress as you go through the development process. If you can get people passionate about your app before you release it on the app store, you will have people eager to download your product as soon as it is available. Who knows, you might even develop an international fan base

Pay Attention to User Feedback

There is never a stage where you should stop paying attention to user feedback. However, it is critically important to pay attention in the early stages after you release your app. This is because the small adjustments that you make based on what your users tell you, can help you to create a product that is even more useful, and more enjoyable. You might be surprised at how making the smallest change, for example, in user interface can really impress users who were initially on the fence. In fact, it could be a user suggestion that will drive your app to the next level.

Seek Out Some Free Press

Once you create a social media presence for your app, start paying attention to bloggers and other content writers who might be interested in creating content about your app. You should also look into small, niche publications that may be interested in filling a bit of space with an article or a review of your product. Not only will this get you much needed free press, you will have a link and possibly a quote to use in your own marketing efforts.
