Boston’s Streetwise Media Acquired by American City Business Journals

Today, American City Business Journals announced its acquisition of Streetwise Media, the creators of news sites BostInno (Boston) and InTheCapital (DC).
American City Business Journals publishes business journals in 40 major cities and on over 45 different websites, including BizJournals.com. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Before the acquisition, Streetwise saw 2.6 million unique visitors to its two sites last month alone. They hope to expand their presence with the help of American City Business Journals, apparently starting with InTheEmpire (NYC).
“It has been quite the ride so far, and we believe that Whit Shaw, CEO of ACBJ, and his team are the perfect partners to help us to continue to innovate within local journalism online and to expand to new cities,” said Streetwise CEO Chase Garbarino.
Streetwise will remain in Boston, and founders Garbarino and Kevin McCarthy will continue as CEO and CTO.
