Text Me Tix Wins CROWDSTART LV and a Shot at $500,000 in Funding

Yesterday, ten startups pitched to the judges at Crowdfunder’s CROWDSTART LV, competing for a chance to pitch to the VegasTechFund and receive up to $500,000 in funding. This is the second Crowdfunder event of its kind, the first took place in Los Angeles in July.

A standing room only crowd gathered at the Plaza Hotel Casino downtown Las Vegas to hear pitches from the ten finalist startups. After deliberation, the judges crowned Salt Lake City, Utah based startup Text Me Tix as the winner. Text Me Tix offers a marketplace for last-minute tickets to events like theatre, sports, comedy, or music. Text Me Tix has created unique relationships with various ticket vendors to create last minute deals to send to you. We previously covered the VegasTechFund as they announced their first five funded startups this past summer. Since then they have gone on to fund a total of nine companies to date. With Text Me Tix winning the Crowdstart LV prize today, time will only tell if they will be number ten.
