My Top 10 Game of Thrones Android Apps

When the calendar ticks March people start to think about warmer weather, green grass, and sunshine. I would wager that an equal amount of people see March and think only one thing: Winter is coming.

If you’re up on your pop-culture then you’ll immediately understand the reference. However, if you’re unfamiliar with what’s happened over the last 3 years at HBO then allow me to enlighten you: the new Game of Thrones season premiers every March.

This year I decided that I wanted a much more immersive Game of Thrones viewing experience, so I took to the internet to find some top notch apps. However, like most of my Android inquiries, search results were pushing me wholly towards iOS.

I cannot abide iOS taking the spotlight from Android in any facet, especially when it comes to one of my favorite series of all time. So, I dug deep, searched for days, and uncovered some of the best Game of Thrones apps for Android.

I also think that if smartphones were available in Game of Thrones that all of the characters would use Android…except Joffrey.

Here are my top 10 Game of Thrones Android apps:

  • Game of Thrones Guide (free): This is my personal favorite, and it provides a countdown to each week’s new episode as well as a comprehensive guide to everything you could ever want to know about the series. TV episodes, characters, lore, houses, religions, geography, and so much more are right at your fingertips.
  • Game of Thrones FanFront (free): The complete fan app for Game of Thrones lets you interact with other fans via chat, voice your opinions by answering fan questions, and stay up to date with the latest news, videos, and Instagram photos.
  • Game of Thrones TV Trivia (free): Avoid the embarrassment next time somebody steps to you and challenges your knowledge. This is a great app for anybody who wants to go deeper into the series or for people who are just looking to get into it.
  • Game of Thrones Countdown (free): It’s a simple app, but it serves a formidable purpose. Never miss out on the next episode or season with this handy, stand-alone countdown clock.
  • Game of Thrones Quotes (free): Some of my favorite Game of Thrones moments are the snappy one-liners and comebacks the characters hurl back and forth. The app makes it easy to memorize your favorite quotes or learn some new ones.
  • Game of Thrones Wallpapers (free): We have seen George R.R. Martin’s complex and beautiful narrative come to life in astounding ways thanks to CGI and illustrations. This database of wallpapers gives you access to some of the best pictures around.
  • Arya Stark Live Wallpaper ($0.99): The only thing cooler than a normal wallpaper of Arya Stark is a live wallpaper of Arya Stark standing next to her dire wolf, Nymeria.
  • Game of Thrones Arryn Clock (free): Take advantage of your widget abilities by changin your home screen clock to a well-designed 1×1, 2×2, or 3×3 clock featuring the sigil and slogan of House Arryn.
  • Game of Thrones Stark Flag 3D ($0.99): The Stark banner can hang proudly on your phone, listing in the wind as you flip back and forth between home screens. Don’t worry if you’re not a Stark fan because the developer has other options.
  • Game of Thrones Funny Pics (free): Westeros isn’t all drama and fighting. This app links directly to memeslanding, a popular Game of Thrones meme database, so you can bring your own humor to the realm.
