Top 5 Apps to Check Out This Weekend

It’s that time of the week: Enjoy those two days off from getting things done, and slow down – concentrate on yourself. Unleash your creativity, catch up on news, and, most importantly, have fun!

Here is my recipe for this weekend: five fresh apps you definitely need to check out.

Vintage Design

It doesn’t matter if you are a professional designer or just have a great project you are working on, Vintage Design is there for you to create ravishing artwork in as little as five taps. The app is user friendly and intuitive, and provides all the necessary tools to create stunning designs. The rest depends on you: Start off by choosing a background from those available or import your own, then pick a badge that will be your focal point, and then unleash your fantasy to decorate the rest of the page. You can choose from a wide variety of ornaments and other accessories, which can be moved, resized, and rotated. The final result can be exported in different sizes, or tweaked with vintage or distressed effects. Vintage Design costs $0.99 and is available for both iPhone and iPad. [Download link]

Space Max

After a bit of creative productivity, let the fun begin! Space Max is an addictive and very challenging retro-style game that you’ll get to learn in just a few seconds. But there is a catch: It’s definitely hard to master. You’ll find yourself hitting the “Retry” button countless times just to increase your score. It’s fun and frustrating at the same time. Mad Max is available for free on the App Store [download link].

My Knit Boutique

It’s all about the colors and the latest trends, and will keep your kids busy for a while. You’ll knit many items, ranging from soft scarves to party dresses, help decorate the shop, and wrap up purchases. This game is perfect for kids to learn some of the basics of knitting and about fashion. My Knit Boutique is a free app, but as with every app adopting the freemium model, you’ll have to spend some money to unlock certain features. The highest (and maybe the best) option is the “unlock everything”, which will cost you $7.99. [Download link for iOS/Android]

Zombie Hunter

As you may have already guessed from its name, you’ll hunt down those evil zombies to protect mankind. The game is a great combination of shooter, sniper, and zombie games peppered with nice graphics. Zombie Hunter was updated recently with a whole new map, and welcome graphics, controls, and user interface improvements. You download Zombie Hunter from the App Store [download link].

Survive

I left this till last because it brings a totally new experience: It’s a creepy game that uses “jumpscare” music and flashing-light tactics to keep you entertained. Survive represents a challenge: You wake up in a dark room and need to get out before the killer gets to you. But you can use only the camera flash to find your way out. Download Survive from the App Store [Price: $0.99 Download link].
