UpTech Business Accelerator Accepting Applications – Deadline is March 9

UpTech, a super business accelerator in Highland Heights, Kentucky (part of the greater Cincinnati area), is accepting applications to fund 50 early-stage informatics companies.  Deadline is March 9, and companies from both the United States and abroad are encouraged to apply.

Each of the 50 winning startups that demonstrate their commercial potential will receive $100,000, 6 months of free, premium riverfront office space overlooking the Cincinnati skyline, and business support from financial, law, accounting and marketing/public relations firms.

Thanks to their affiliation with Northern Kentucky University’s College of Informatics, UpTech winners will also receive support from faculty, staff and graduate assistants and two student interns and use of on-campus informatics labs and facilities for collaboration, events, and seminars.

Contest judges are national informatics, futurists, business and investment experts from leading companies such as CBS, Cisco, Dell, Procter & Gamble, SAP, Scripps, and Summus Software.

I am willing to bet that you’ve never heard of UpTech – neither had I – but they are a partnership of Vision 2015, a public visioning effort that focuses on economic and community development in Northern Kentucky – and they have funding from independent investors.
