The Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) announced yesterday the 20 DC-area startups that will be presenting at this year’s TechBUZZ Summer 2014 event. Each company will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to an audience of investors, tech executives, and entrepreneurs.

Launched in 2011, MAVA’s TechBUZZ event gives nascent to seed-stage companies an opportunity to share their projects and connect with investors and other entrepreneurs. Since that time, presenting startups at TechBUZZ have received in total more than $120 million in disclosed funding (not including the investments and acquisitions with undisclosed terms).

“As this TechBUZZ line-up demonstrates, entrepreneurs are pushing the boundaries in building innovative, viable commercial solutions,” says Executive Director of MAVA, Julia Spicer, in a statement. “We are seeing entrepreneurs put together teams and attack problems across an increasingly broad range of industry sectors and verticals, from eCommerce to EdTech; in the financial, agriculture and hospitality sectors;  and at the enterprise as well as the consumer level.
