If your startup is in the financial tech or services space, hopefully you had a chance to enter the 2011 Innotribe $100K Start-Up Challenge (deadline was August 14). If you’re not familiar with it, this is a great opportunity for startups in banking, payments, securities, trading, social media, big data, security, identity, mobile, small business and IT infrastructure to introduce themselves to more than 9,700 banks and corporations for a chance to win one of two $50K prizes.
More than 80 startups from 15 countries are competing; 10 finalists will pitch to an invitation-only audience at Sibos on September 21, 2001 in Toronto. We are really excited to be a media partner for this great event.
The comprehensive list of round 1 judges, who are evaluating the online applications, include representatives from Citigroup, Microsoft, Edison Ventures, 500 Startups, Seedcamp, Bloomberg Ventures, and numerous others (it is a really long list!). Round 2 judges will include some from round 1, as well as others from major banks and financial institutions like Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Lloyds, etc.
