22 Tips to Knock Out Stress & Anxiety at Work [INFOGRAPHIC]

You probably didn’t know this, but November 4th was Stress Awareness Day (Hallmark could make a killing on this one). However, if you’re anything like me, you’re keenly aware of your stress every day. Most of us are in agreement that stress is not healthy (despite what this article says). It can have all kinds of physical effects and weaken your immune system.

Stress is sometimes unavoidable, but we’re here to help you minimize it as much as possible. We’re not the only ones who are actively trying to help you be less stressful and anxiety ridden. This infographic from UK employee benefits company Unum offers several tips to help combat stress in the workplace (sorry, you’re on your own for your personal life, though I suppose some of these tips are transferable).

Tips include:

  • Practice mindfulness
  • Recognize false alarms
  • Positive self talk
  • Face your fears
  • Set aside worry time
  • Learn to say no
  • Start making plans
  • Take breaks
  • Break up the day
  • Take a deep breath
  • Muscle relaxation.

Some of these tips might be ones you’ve read a hundred times before, a few may be ones you already put into practice, and a couple might be brand new to you and worth a shot. We’re all unique (because we’re all snowflakes), so different techniques will work for different people.
