The Miami-based angel investment group Accelerated Growth Partners (AGP) is relaunching with plans to create a more-organized network of early-stage investors in South Florida. The group received a $211,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, which will be used to attract more investors to the group, provide investment education to the community and launch a series A fund for startups.

In a blog post published today, Managing Director of AGP Nico Berardi shared his overall objective in South Florida’s community.

“Overcoming the funding obstacle will further unlock Miami’s potential, and we’re  looking forward to working with the community to make that happen,” says Berardi.

AGP’s board of directors includes Miami angel investors Juan Pablo Cappello, Andy Sturner, Daniel Echavarria and Marco Giberti. They have previously funded local startups like Kairos, LiveNinja and Mela Artisans.
