Small businesses are constantly hearing about all the things they have to do – you have to have a mobile website, you have to be active on social media, you have to create compelling content to share with your target market, you have to have a mobile app. That’s all good and well, but when are you supposed to find the time and money to do all of this?

Affinity Amp can help you with one of the above – probably the trickiest of them all. Their Mobile Engagement Platform is a cloud-based SaaS solution that lets businesses create customized mobile apps that will engage customers and business partners. There is no coding, and because it is pay-as-you-go, it is affordable. Of course, there are built-in analytic tools so you can see what engages your customers most and make real-time modifications to the app.

Current customers are concentrated in several industry verticals including health and fitness, travel, and petroleum marketing.  The Active Health Lifestyle app services a number of health clubs and Kirkwood Ski Area, and they are currently completing the Official Idaho Travel Guide for iPad and Smartphones in conjunction with Drake Cooper, along with one for Tahoe South.

The idea for the platform originated with co-founder Brian Sevy, who was the Director of Mobile Strategy for Intel and has done 3 mobile startups.

“We saw that there was a huge void in the market to connect communities of individuals that have a passion for something such as health or travel.  We also saw that there was a need to have a solid cross platform solution that was affordable to the small to medium sized business owner.”

The Boise-based startup is lead by an accomplished team – joining Sevy is CEO Tom Loutzenheiser, who has had a few CEO roles including as co-founder of Apexx Technology (sold to eSoft) and CEO of Telemetric Corp (which merged with Sensus USA). “We love Boise due to its business friendly nature, great resources, and quality of life,” he said.
