Foodie Registry, the service that allows couples to register for dining at upscale restaurants rather than traditional wedding items, has expanded to the ultimate dining city in the world, New York City.

We’ve covered Foodie Registry in the past.  The service was founded in Chicago by husband and wife team Jennifer and Ben Reid. After they were dissatisfied with items found on traditional registries, the two decided to compile a list of restaurants they wanted to visit and had friends and family purchase gift certificates for them.

Though not quite ready yet, Foodie Registry will be offering an alternative to their alternative: Foodies Feed, a non-profit gift giving program that will allow registrants to add donation requests to food and hunger related non-profit organizations.

The service has been doing well and they have more than 60 restaurants participating in Chicago.  Foodie Registry is also in the San Fransico and Denvers areas.

Come check out Foodie Registry, as they will be on hand as one of our showcased startups at Tech Cocktail NYC tonight!
