The United States presidential election is tomorrow. People will choose the 45th president of the most powerful country on Earth, in the 58th quadrennial U.S. presidential election.
Among other candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, respectively from the Democratic and Republican Parties, are the ones with real chances of becoming elected, and analysts say it will be a really close election. The campaign has had a heavy tone, filled with scandals, controversies and accusations, so this is the right moment to talk about it in a much lighter tone.
Chances are you already know which of the candidates bears more ideological similarities with you, but you probably are not aware with whom you are physically more alike. Ntechlab, using its FindFace platform, made a nifty web app where anyone can upload their own photo and find out if they look most like Hillary or like Trump.
This app is based on the company’s FindFace technology, which is one of the most powerful face recognition algorithms available right now – even outperforming Google and China’s best programs in the subject. It uses a set of deep learning algorithms, that can spot a single face within a crowd of one million within a fraction of a second, and that was proven effective by scoring top results at MegaFaceBenchmark 2015, a global face recognition contest.
It goes without saying that this kind of technology can have vast potential applications but, at this time, folks at Ntechlab decided to have fun with their work and created this website. To do pull it off, they changed their code to be gender-neutral, so that the identifications with Hillary and Trump and not dependent on the person’s gender.
