On the heels of the Apple iPad mania this past weekend, Apple has just announced that they will be giving a sneak peek of the upcoming release of the next iPhone operating system, OS 4.0. It is unclear what will be offered in the new iPhone OS 4.0 but if I had to predict I would say here might be some tweaks made to enable better UI compatibility between the Apple iPad and the iPhone applications. This could also include the introduction of multitasking functionality via apps running on the iPhone.

I’d love to see the updated iPhone OS 4.0 offer a legitimate way to tether to connect your iPhone to your iPad to share the 3G connection. It would also be great to see a more unified notification system which is more in line with that of the Google Android platform. After using the Android for it a bit, it exposed what the iPhone OS has been missing when it comes to notifications. Aside from that, I’d love for it to to be able to cook while doing my laundry but that’s probably still a few iterations away. But one can always dream. 🙂
