Ben’s Chili Bowl is a Washington, D.C. institution offering the best chili dogs in the nation’s capitol. Yesterday, they took a step forward in the digital age as they partnered with iStrategyLabs to make Digital Capital Week even bigger and tastier.. with Apps For Ben’s, a contest to develop the first Ben’s Chili Bowl App. You may recall the success of “Apps for Democracy” which iStrategyLabs co-created with DC’s Office of the CTO and all the apps contests that have spun out from it…including the Apps for the Army contest we previously covered. But this one is all about Chili therefore looking for developers with a serious appetite for chilli app development!

The Disruptathon is providing their innovation discovery platform (including super slick branded iPod Touch devices) to select the winners in real-time at the contest finale & party at Ben’s Next Door. The winner apps contest winner will get a framed picture on the illustrious wall of Ben’s Chili Bowl (close by to Bill Cosby or President Obama, of course), Ben’s gear, gift cards and bragging rights as the app will be ‘unveiled’ at a party with 20 friends.
