In an age where portability is key to virtually everything, portable speakers are one of the hottest gadgets on the market right now, as people get more and more dependent on their portable devices, like smartphones and tablets, to hear music. With a simple Bluetooth connection, these speakers can stream any audio without any hassle whatsoever.
Portable speakers have, indeed, taken a brutal evolution in the last couple of years, but what if someone took these devices even further? That is exactly the concept behind auris zwing, a project seeking for funding on Indiegogo. Launched on May 4th, the campaign has already raised more than 20% of its $75,000 goal.
auris zwing is dubbed as “the smartest speaker you will ever have”, and it is not hard to understand why: with a built-in touchscreen, really goes a step further in the portable speaker niche as, not only it allows for a better and easier user experience, it also brings a whole new world to speakers, allowing for the streaming of movies and the usage of apps.
zwing is engineered to sound better than the other Bluetooth speakers and, unlike most rivals, it can stream music, TV shows, movies, audio books, and more, without interruption, all without a source device. zwing ships with Bluetooth 4.0, which ensures a better connection for devices supporting this version of the technology.
Being based on Android, it comes as no surprise that zwing supports most of the “mainstream” apps, like Pandora, Google Play Music and Films, YouTube, Skype, and many others. And it comes with storage room for a great number of them, with the 8GB or 32GB internal storage options – both of them can be increased, with the Micro SD card slot that supports cards up to 120GB.
zwing has custom built drivers and precisely tuned bass-reflex, delivering great low frequency response, sharp mids and smooth highs. Other interesting features of this speaker are the ability to run 2-way video, having HDMI output and a powerful 12V/5000mAh rechargeable lithium battery, capable of juicing zwing for around 20 hours.
If the auris zwing speaker got your attention, be sure to visit its Indiegogo campaign page and, if desired, pledge for its launch.
