Tonight, three or four finalist startups will be pitching for a $15,000 prize in the Ballston LaunchPad Challenge Finale.

One will be crowned the next big idea in the DC area by judges like Ted Leonsis, founder of Monumental Sports & Entertainment; Aneesh Chopra, former assistant to the president and CTO; and Congressman Gerry Connolly.

For the past six months, 14 semi-finalists have been enjoying education and mentorship from the Ballston Business Improvement District (BID), an organization designed to make DC’s Ballston area attractive for business, culture, and entertainment.

In addition to the cash prize, the winning startup will also receive legal help from Saul Ewing, office space in Ballston, and furniture from Washington Workplace.

The event takes place at the Regal Cinema in the Ballston Common Mall from 6-9 pm, including an open bar, hors d’oeuvres reception, and pitch event. Tickets are still available at the door until 6:45 pm for $49. Tech Cocktail is a media partner of the event and two of our staff will be there, so we hope you’ll join us!
