Banjo Makes Headlines Again, Raises $16 Million Series B Funding

Coming hot on the heels of Banjo’s announcement at SXSW to launch a web-based version of their platform, the startup company today informed us that they have successfully closed a Series B funding round that brought in $16 million. The round was led by Balderton Capital and included participation from other investors like BlueRun Ventures and the VegasTechFund.

“Banjo is changing the way people consume breaking news and experience live events online and on mobile,” says Patton. And, as he told us at SXSW on March 8, “Rewind is doing for the Internet what TiVo did for television.”

Patton will be using the funding to fulfill an ambitious growth plan to recruit top talent in the field while also expanding the global user base and beefing up the enterprise platform for media partnerships. This is a major milestone for Banjo, Patton, Downtown Vegas, and all the users who make the platform great; to date, Banjo has raised a collective $21 million.
