BetterBack Makes Any Seat an Ergonomic Fit

“We sit for over 9 hours every single day. And because of the way we’re doing it, 90 percent of us will experience back pain in our lives. I made BetterBack to help people like me who suffer from back pain, and to help people build a habit of good posture so they don’t get back pain in the first place,” says Katherine Krug, founder of BetterBack.

You’d be hard pressed to find somebody who disagrees with what Krug is saying here. In fact, there are 10,000 people who agree, and they’ve funded her Kickstarter campaign to the tune of $750,000 collectively.

Why do they like the BetterBack product so much? Well, for one it allows you to effortlessly sit in a state of perfect posture. But beyond that it’s lightweight, portable, and can turn virtually every chair into an ergonomic wonderland.

As Krug says, wearing it for just 15 minutes a day can retrain your body’s default posture so that when you stand or sit without it your posture is greatly improved. It’s kind of like strength training at the gym.

“I started to focus on my posture in 2012, when my terrible sciatica pain started. I spent hundreds on hundreds of dollars on special products and therapies, but I couldn’t find something that just worked for me,” says Krug.

BetterBack, unlike traditional lumbar support, stabilizes the pelvis which restores the spine’s natural curvature. In effect, it acts as a super muscle that holds you comfortable in good posture for as long as you have to sit.

What’s more, according to Krug most people don’t even notice when you’re wearing it. She herself sits through meals, meetings, and flights and it’s only when she takes it off that people notice she’s been wearing it the whole time.

The only time BetterBack isn’t a great idea is when you’re driving or need quick leg mobility. Outside of that, though, you can wear it in almost any situation, even cross legged.

“BetterBack allows you to effortlessly sit in perfect posture. There’s nothing to recharge or sync; it just works,” says Krug.
