The Top 10 Biggest Tech Acquisitions Ever

LinkedIn announced their acquisition by Microsoft yesterday. It’s a move CEO Satya Nadella says will prove “key to our bold ambition to reinvent productivity and business processes.” The hot takes are already agreed: $26.2 billion is a lot to pay for the professionally-oriented social network.

Of course, deals in which dozens of billions exchange hands aren’t unheard of, especially in the tech world. The LinkedIn buy is one of the largest tech acquisitions in recent memory, but it’s not the biggest. Here’s a rundown of the top ten, starting with the largest purchases and moving down.
