Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, the shopping season will be in full swing. If you are looking to get a jump start on Black Friday then you might be interested in a few iPhone or Android applications that might be worthwhile if you are looking for savings.

Black Friday Android and iPhone App – built specifically for the big day, this app brings the latest news, sales, and deals right to your Android phone on Black Friday.

Red Laser iPhone App – scan the barcode of any product to get pricing information, from the lowest prices online or at local stores. The search includes Google Product Search (US, UK), TheFind Product Search, eBay and Half.com. This product has received great reviews.

ShopSavvy Android and iPhone App – Like Red Laser, you can scan the barcode of any product to instantly get a wealth of information. The app gives you a list of prices from stores online and in your area so you can compare. Since we haven’t seen Red Laser for Android, this might be a good option.

TGI Black Friday iPhone App – While this app really targeted the weeks leading up to Black Friday, it’s pretty comprehensive in terms of listing deals, offering custom shopping lists, sharing and price comparisons, making it a handy tool.

Google Shopper Android App – Like Red Laser and ShopSavvy, this app by Google allows you to scan barcodes to see detailed product information including prices, reviews and specs. It also helps you find local stores and online options, share, and save your history and favorites.

Consumer Reports Mobile Shopper App – The price of this app gives you access to Consumer Report information for one year, ad free. Browse through ratings, reviews and recommendations, search for products, or scan the barcode of specific products to find the info you need real-time.

Shopping and Outlet Malls Locator – If you’re traveling over the next few weeks, MapMuse’s Shopping and Outlet Mall locator will help you locate shopping and outlet malls while on the road. Includes info from Wikipedia and additional info and photos from individual contributors.

We are not going to be hitting the stores tomorrow but rather laying back to find the best deals online. If you’re like us, then you might be interested in checking out the Groupon, Gilt and LivingSocial apps as we’re assuming they’ll start rolling out some holiday deals soon:

Groupon iPhone and Android App – Not only can you purchase and redeem Groupon deals from this app, but you can also search nearby Groupons using GPS. They also have options for “vintage” non-smart phones via voice and touch-tone options. Talk about equal opportunity deals!

Gilt Groupe iPhone and Android App – Winning the award for most stylish app, you can preview sales, shop current sales and purchase real-time with the Gilt Groupe apps.

LivingSocial iPhone & Android App – Similar to Groupon’s apps, LivingSocial offers push notifications, sharing and a local deals map so you can see what deals might be nearby.

Bonus!  Gifts HD for iPad –  This isn’t a deals app, but we think this tool for your iPad may be pretty handy to help organize your shopping lists. Create individual shopping lists for the people in your life with budgets, trackers and to-do lists. Also includes countdown to Christmas and Chanukah, summary screens showing what you’ve bought, what you still have to do, money spent – and a built in calculator. Normally $5.99, this app is currently .99c midnight Friday.

These apps should help arm you for all your holiday shopping needs. Happy shopping and be safe.
