The Boston-based startup, Blink, which produces DIY security monitoring solutions is back again, and this time, they’ve launched a weatherproof camera. Dubbed the Blink XT, the camera will feature a two-year battery life, 1080p HD video, infrared night vision, and of course, weatherproofing.

Earlier in the year, we reported on their advancements to their platform, giving their wire-free cameras a two-year battery life using standard AA batteries, and had positive things to say in our tech review. In fact, the only slight issue we really had during the review is that there were no native options for using the camera’s outside (even though we did), which they seek to solve with the Blink XT.

The new cameras will still require a sync module; however, for those with existing systems, the current one will support the XTs.

“After much anticipation, we are thrilled to announce our affordable outdoor camera so both loyal Blink customers and new users alike can fully protect their homes day or night, no matter the season,” said Peter Besen, CEO of Blink. “Our customers have been anxious for a weatherproof model, and this new camera illustrates Blink’s commitment to developing integrated products that serve consumers’ home protection needs while integrating flawlessly into their lifestyles.”

Set to ship in February of 2017, the XT is currently set at a pre-order price of $119.
