Bo Fishback of Zaarly: We Didn’t Even Exist at SXSW Last Year

Bo Fishback’s background is a bit different from most entrepreneurs’ – after studying biomedical engineering, he started two research-heavy drug delivery and genome sequencing companies. He also served as vice president of entrepreneurship for the non-profit Kauffman Foundation.

But these days he’s helping dinners get delivered, boxes moved, and friends picked up as the CEO of new-age marketplace Zaarly. Zaarly buyers request things, sellers make offers, and a new local economy is born.

Fishback was his every-thoughtful self at our SXSW #StartupLife Celebration Saturday, discussing his views on the current funding scene, how local and mobile will affect online marketplaces, his favorite part of startup life, and why you should use social proof when hiring your team.  Here’s the video:
