In a highly-saturated market like New York City, it can be hard to navigate through the literally hundreds upon hundreds of startups. Well, Tech.Co’s Celebrate Startup Tour took on the task as a challenge and rolled through Silicon Alley last night, where it crowned two New York startups as this year’s Tech.Co New York Startup of the Year event.

At last night’s Tech.Co New York Startup of the Year competition, we heard 13 pitches from startups across New York City. Spanning the industries from human resources and event management to healthcare and education, the startups that pitched their ideas last night at the Centre for Social Innovation were some of this year’s most refreshing ideas in the overall tech industry. And one of our partners for the event, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), felt the same way about many of the consumer-facing apps and products that were presented in the competition.

Through a process of both online and in-person voting, members of the Silicon Alley community selected two winners as this year’s Tech.Co New York Startup(s) of the Year. With these wins, the two startups have won the chance to compete on the international level at Tech.Co Celebrate 2015 this upcoming October in Downtown Las Vegas, NV. You can check out this full list of local and online startup competitions in Tech.Co’s Startup Tour, and consider applying to an event that hasn’t expired. You can also take a look at all the semifinals and their winners, so far, here.

This year’s Tech.Co New York Startup of the Year Winners are:

Readers’ Choice Winner: Yorango

Yorango: The company simplifies rental with an end-to-end solution for tenants and landlords, integrating management SaaS with easy-to-navigate listings. Potential renters submit rental bids on a property and property owners choose the one they like most.

Best Pitch Winner: Boomset

Boomset: Boomset reduces the need for paper during on-site event registration and strives to maximize attendee engagement at events.
