It’s that time of the year again where 70,000 gather in Black Rock Desert, 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada and unplug for a weekend of colorful experiences as a temporary city is erected in the desert. If you’re not familiar with Burning Man, it’s an annual event that started in 1986 and culminates with the burning of a large wooden statue. Burning Man is said to have started as a bonfire ritual on the summer solstice in 1986 when Larry Harvey, Jerry James, and a few other friends met on Baker Beach in San Francisco and burned a 9 foot tall wooden man as well as a smaller wooden dog. The event has turned into a playground for some of the tech, entertainment, and business world’s elite. If you haven’t been camping glamping in the desert this past week and for many, heading into the Labor Day weekend, you can still get a great look at the action thanks to technology (and the fact that many are no longer completely unplugging for the festival) – now there’s a Burning Man livestream.

It’s currently free to download on Amazon and includes some great insights on what to expect and how to prepare for a weekend off the grid in the hot, dry, and dusty Nevada desert.
